Ibizan chill-out comes to Southsea, old-school house, plus rum and reggae in Sam Cherry's Club Scene

Kicking things off tonight, DJ Mark Persuad  is hosting his own BBQ/Ibiza Chill Out residency at Southsea Beach Café from 7pm until 11.30pm.

With promises of fresh seafood and steaks, the tunes will be pure Ibizan chill out as the sun goes down; ideal if you’re on a budget and not able to make it to Café Mambo in Ibiza this year.  It also sounds like a great place to start your evening off! Catch more details at facebook.com.

Meanwhile over at The Barn in Milton, it’s the Outlook Festival launch as Inform/Reform Records play host alongside Hotplate Recordings. The line-up features Dom & Roland, DJ Blazin, Sepia, Lord Jabu, Kirbstomp, DJ Mota, RJM, Inertia and MC Freestyle. Expect plenty of drum and bass, deep dubstep, jungle and footwork from these guys!

Dom & Roland have been in the drum and bass scene since the early ’90s and have featured on labels such as Metalheadz and Moving Shadows as well as self-releasing their tracks.

Tomorrow, Strictly OldSkool take over The Glasshouse at Pyramids Centre in Southsea for an over-21s event onlym from 8pm until 2am. The evening promises to be a night of classic ’90s house music with Groover Washington, Andy Mason (Southern Exposure) and Nicky K (Kindergarten Klub) supplying old school bangers all evening.

Over at The Shepherds Crook in Goldsmith Avenue tomorrow, the Rum and Reggae Festival takes over from 5pm until 11pm with promises of excellent Jamaican cuisine and plenty of live music with Emiliyah and the Mighty Z All Stars, Gleem and DJ Wayne Wobble.

For those who want to step up on singing duties, there will also be Reggaeoke with a live band!

For rum connoisseurs, there’s a selection of award-winning rums.
