Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds put on a fantastic show and Noel’s performance will go down in the city’s history as an ‘I was there’ moment.

There was charisma, passion and musical genius from the Manchester-born artist from the first to the very last song he performed.

It was a coup by organisers to book Noel, but whatever it cost to get him to come to Southsea reaped some huge rewards.

Songs from his own band were given an upbeat reception, but it was his Oasis material that really got the crowd lost in the music.

Lights swept overhead as he performed Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Don’t Look Back In Anger.

Thousands of people in the audience sang along with every word of these classics.

Having Noel as the last night headliner meant Victorious really raised it another notch this year.

Whoever they get to play in 2017 has some task to surpass him.
