The £3.5billion London Paramount attraction will be built on 872 acres of land on the banks of the Thames estuary at Swanscombe near Dartford in Kent.

London Resort Company Holdings, the group behind the plan, hope it will rival Disneyland Paris as a must-go destination for families.

With a projected adult ticket price of £57, it will include scores of attractions as well as a 1,500-seat theatre and a nightclub

It is reported that the theme park could feature attractions from major Paramount films such as Transformers, Titanic, Star Trek and Mission: Impossible.

And BBC Worldwide, Aardman Animations and the British Film Institute have signed agreements meaning iconic British creations such as Doctor Who and Wallace and Gromit could be featured.

It is said the park will include zones such as Adventure Isle, Land of Legends, Cartoon Circus, Starfleet Command, Action Square, Port Paramount and Entertainment City

LRCH chief executive Humphrey Percy said: ‘Our catchment area means there are 41million people within four hours and we’re targeting them but not just once, we want them to come again and again.’

Construction of the theme park is expected to begin in two years time if the government approves the plan.
