Events company Events in the Sky is bringing its famous gastronomical creation to Southampton next year, offering people the chance to eat their meals high above the ground.

Suspended 100 feet above ground, the restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon and evening cocktailk flights for guests.

The table will seat 22 guests, who will be securely fastened in before the table is raised 100 feet in the air.

Events in the Sky spokesman Dale Agar said: ‘With the success of London in the Sky, we’re looking forward to bringing a stellar line-up of the region’s best chefs and restaurants to Southampton in 2017.

‘We promise that this will be a truly unique dining experience with spectacular views.’

The full line-up will be announced in February next year, although country house hotel Chewton Glen in New Milton has already been named as an event partner.

Chewton Glen Hotel managing director Andrew Stembridge said: ‘We were delighted to receive the invitation to get on board with this exciting event as it launches in Southampton.

‘We can’t wait to bring our award-winning chef and fantastic team to the skies over the city, for what will surely be a truly “gastro-nautical” experience.’

Southampton in the Sky will run from 21-24 September 2017 in Guildhall Square.

There will be nine sittings each day, with prices starting at £50.

The restaurant will also be visiting Glasgow, Newcastle, London and Bristol next summer.
