REVIEW: The Circus of Horrors - Kings Theatre, Southsea

When my colleagues in the office ask what I did over the weekend, I don't think they will be quite prepared for my answer.

After all, it’s not every Friday night you watch a dwarf dance around with a Henry vacuum cleaner attached to his genitals.

This can only mean one thing, the Circus of Horrors is back in town. The troupe shot to fame in 2011 when part of the act reached the finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and have been touring ever since. Camp Dracula opened the show with some amusing audience interaction before introducing the Circus’ creator, Dr Haze, and his band, the Interceptors of Hell.

The rock music was fantastic.

The vocals from Haze’s stunning sidekick were simply sensational.

The loudest screams, however, came during the ‘I Hate That Clown’ number, when the audience were horrified as clowns clambered through the stalls up to the stage!

I cringed numerous times but I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage.

It’s jaw-dropping, it’s naughty and it’s gruesome.

When it comes to entertainment, it’s not to be missed.
