Something for the weekend? Club Scene with Sam Cherry

Despite the heavy downpour Sunday afternoon at Victorious Festival, I can happily say it was another fantastic year for the festival with an exciting and diverse choice of artists across its stages.

My particular highlight was playing my own music during my DJ set on the AMP Stage and catching performances from Everything Everything, Paloma Faith, Friendly Fires and of course, the '˜evil rave' behemoth that is The Prodigy, who absolutely smashed Sunday's headline slot. Be very proud Victorious '“ this festival firmly marks Portsmouth as a festival hot spot.

On the drum and bass front this week, Rave.Era and Subspace Audio will be teaming up at The Old Barn in Milton tomorrow to present Kyrist; the Bristol-based artist has been picking up traction in the scene recently with releases on the likes of Critical, Proximity, Dispatch, and Lifestyle Music as well as performing at Metalheadz events. Support comes from Smellz, Jungalice, Adromeda b2b Dizlocate, Luke Loud b2b Diversion, Foreman and MCs Range, Doyle and Grafta. Tomorrow, over at Tiger Tiger in Gunwharf Quays hosts Enclosure, their brand new Saturday night, with 50 per cent off drinks from 5pm until 9pm and four different club rooms: Jewel, Decadia, Kanaloa and The Club.
