Southsea Common's big clean-up begins following successful Victorious Festival

Two days and 120,000 music lovers later... the big clean-up of Southsea Common following Victorious Festival has begun.

Crews got to work on dismantling lighting rigs, barriers and stages, which hosted the likes of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Mark Ronson and Annie Mac.

Meanwhile, litter-pickers set out to clear the common of rubbish, and are likely to be working for most of the week.

Councillor Linda Symes, cabinet member for culture at Portsmouth City Council, sung her praises of the festival’s organisers.

She said: ‘It’s a wonderful spectacle for our residents as well as bringing visitors to the city and generating millions of pounds for the local economy.

‘It has been a great showcase for our city and everything the seafront can offer, showing just how Portsmouth can host world-class events.’
