Strictly star to host dancing workshops in Southsea

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Robin Windsor is bound for Portsmouth.

The 36-year-old Latin and ballroom dancer will be in the city on April 3 to host two ballroom dancing classes for beginners at the Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea.

Mr Windsor said he was looking forward to the visit, which is part of a series of workshops he is doing across the country.

He said: ‘I’m coming down to Portsmouth to run a couple of beginner classes.

‘My dream is to get the UK up dancing and what better way than starting off beginner classes in dance schools across the country?’

Mr Windsor said dancing was a hobby with many benefits.

He said: ‘I fell in love with dancing at a very young age.

‘Every time I dance it doesn’t matter what is going on in my world, good or bad, all that matters is being in the dance. That is such a great feeling, to get transported into a very special
world.’

Mr Windsor appeared in four seasons of Strictly between 2010 and 2013, as well as in Christmas specials up to last year.

He said he encouraged anyone to give dancing a try.

Mr Windsor said: ‘As you have seen on Strictly, dancing makes people happy.

‘It’s fun, it’s a great social activity, it’s also great to learn a new skill with your partner.’

The classes will take place at 2pm and 4pm and cost £30 per person.
