The votes have been counted, the winners picked and the trophies produced.
Now it’s just three days until the big night – The News Guide Awards 2014 ceremony.
Steve Frampton, principal of the big night’s sponsor, Portsmouth College, says: ‘We feel that it is important to support and celebrate the talent, energy and diversity of the outstanding culture in our city.
‘Portsmouth continues to evolve into a leading example of artistic spirit in its many forms, inspiring young people and raising ambition.’
He adds: ‘The students at Portsmouth College thrive from community engagement as it allows them to develop their employability and networking skills, so by working with local partners in the city, we provide opportunities for them to share their success with the people of Portsmouth and beyond in various events such as exhibitions, gigs and performances.
‘We are proud to join forces with The Guide Awards and we wish all the nominees the very best of luck.’
Wave 105’s breakfast show presenter Steve Power will be returning as host for the awards night, which is at the Kings Theatre, Southsea on Monday evening.
Besides revealing the 13 category winners, plus the recipient of a Special Achievement award, we have got some great acts performing on the night.
Our Instant Star winner, and veteran of the West End at just nine years old, Lucy Simmonds, will be singing. The Portsmouth Players will also be treating the audience to an excerpt from their upcoming version of Hairspray, which will be at the Kings from February 24.
And we’ll be hosting an exciting debut from a new musical project, BigChildManChild.
Tickets for The Guide Awards are free and you don’t have to be a nominee or performer – anyone can attend. To apply, call The News on (023) 9262 2136, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
