What do Beyoncé and Shakespeare have in common? CCADS’ interpretation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which will be brought to life when they return to the Square Tower on Monday.

In celebration of the 450th anniversary of the Bard’s birth, the award-winning theatre company makes its Shakespearean debut with a streamlined version that runs at just an hour and 40 minutes.

The experience begins from the moment that audiences step into the tower, where they will find themselves at a pre-wedding reception for Duke Theseus and Duchess Hippolyta before being taken to different locations around their estate.

In a modern twist, this theatrical experience is set to a soundtrack of modern romantic music from Joni Mitchell and Kylie Minogue to Take That, Beyonc é and Rihanna.

The play will be performed by a top cast of local talent, headed by recent ‘Best Actor In A Comedy’ Curtain Call Award winner Tony Dart as Bottom.

This immersive production is suitable for audiences of all ages and less able-bodied audience members are catered for.

CCADS presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream on October 13-18 at The Square Tower from 7.30pm plus a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets: £12, buy online at
