Duncan James from Blue has been cast as Tick in a new production of Priscilla: Queen Of The Desert, which comes to the Mayflower in Southampton from September 14-19.
Based on the 1994 film, Priscilla: Queen Of The Desert tells the story of three friends, two of whom are drag queens. They hop aboard a battered old bus that they name Priscilla searching for love and friendship.
With a dazzling array of outrageous costumes and a hit parade of dancefloor favorites including It’s Raining Men, Say A Little Prayer, Go West, Hot Stuff and Always On My Mind, this musical is a journey to the heart of fabulous.
As one quarter of the pop band Blue, Duncan James has sold over 13 million records, had three number one albums and 40 number one singles worldwide.
His stage credits include playing Warner Huntington III in the West End production of Legally Blonde and Billy Flynn in Chicago. He was also a finalist on ITV1’s Dancing On Ice.
Priscilla: Queen Of The Desert originally opened in Australia and after a sell-out two-year run, opened in London’s West End followed by Broadway in the US.
