After previously performing the production at Ferneham Hall, the Fareham Musical Society is back to perform three different episodes of the sitcom Fawlty Towers.

Starring Jonathan Redwood as Basil Fawlty, the amateur dramatics group will perform A Touch Of Glass, The Builders and Waldorf Salad.

The original series of Fawlty Towers, a fictional hotel in the seaside town of Torquay, featured the rude owner Basil Fawlty (John Cleese), his bossy wife Sybil (Prunella Scales), chambermaid Polly (Connie Booth) and hapless Spanish waiter Manuel (Andrew Sachs).

In A Touch Of Glass a confidence trickster stays at the hotel, just after Basil takes an advert in a magazine to upgrade the clientele.

The Builders follows Basil as he hires the usual firm of incompetents to do some carpentry work while customer dissatisfaction with the dining experience comes to a head in Waldorf Salad when an insistent American comes to stay.

Only twelve episodes of the sitcom were made, but in a list drawn up by the British Film Institute in 2000, voted by industry professionals, Fawlty Towers was named the best British television series of all time.

Tickets: £10 to £12 from Ferneham Hall, Fareham, on (01329) 231942 or go to fernehamhall.co.uk
