The Groundlings Theatre are starting the frights early this year as they host The Signalman this Thursday at 8pm.

A one act play based on the Charles Dickens’ ghost story, The Signalman tells the story of a curious traveller who encounters a worker in a dark and dismal railway cutting.

The man appears strangely troubled; is it his isolation and the tedium of his job that is playing with his mind? Or is there a presence haunting the gloom around the black mouth of that oppressive and forbidding tunnel?

The Signalman will be performed by the Origins Theatre Company, based on the Isle Of Wight, with a running time of 50 minutes.

The Signalman comes to the Groundlings Theatre on Thursday, October 23 at 8pm.

Tickets cost £9 for adults and £7 for concessions, visit groundlings.co.uk or call the box office at (02392)737 370.
