Sword-fighting on the high seas, feisty fairies, a ticking crocodile with a score to settle, and a mischievous little boy all weave their magic this Christmas as The Point Youth Theatre will present its production of Peter Pan.
It seems to be a popular choice for a Christmas show for theatres in the area, as The Point, Eastleigh puts on J M Barrie’s timeless tale of the boy who never grew up.
The classic tale follows Wendy, John and Michael Darling as they are led on an exciting adventure through Neverland by the mischievous Peter, meeting a gang of Lost Boys, a tribe of pirates, the headstrong Tinker Bell, and the blood curdling Captain Hook.
But an unusual feature of the production is that the cast is made up of over 80 children.
Not only is the theatre’s youth group presenting and acting in the play, but The Point Youth Dance Company will be joining its fellow performers on the stage.
The Point Youth Theatre director, Daniel Hill, said: ‘Peter Pan is such a wonderful story. Who wouldn’t want to recreate JM Barrie’s classic tale, bringing it to life for a new audience?
‘It promises to be the perfect Christmas treat for all the family.’
Peter Pan is at The Point, Eastleigh from December 16-21.
Tickets cost £6.50 to £8.50 from The Point, Eastleigh on (023) 8065 2333 or go to thepointeastleigh.co.uk.
