CINDERELLA has lost her slipper, not in a fairytale castle, but perhaps in the Spinnaker Tower or somewhere in a shop in Commercial Road.

It’s all part of a Groundlings Theatre competition to promote a December pantomime, which will this year be based on the tale of the damsel with the dastardly stepsisters.

Groundlings’ education manager Matt Swann, 22, said the slipper would be hidden in locations around Portsmouth.

He said: ‘Every day we give out a clue about where it is on Express FM and on our Twitter and Facebook pages.

‘When somebody finds the slipper they have to take selfie of themselves with it and then upload it to our Facebook page.’

Mr Swann said the first person to photograph the slipper at each location would win a prize, such as tickets to shows at the theatre or attractions around the city.

He said: ‘We’ve had a great response. It’s been quite funny, lots of people have been calling up and asking for extra clues.’

There will be auditions for children and non-professional actors at the theatre on October 25. The panto is due to start on December 10.

Mr Swann said: ‘Last year we did Aladdin, and it was the first panto we’ve ever done.

‘We want this year to just as good, if not slightly bigger and better.’
