A FUNDRAISING day is being held over the weekend to help raise funds for a Portsmouth theatre.

Groundlings Theatre, in Kent Street, Portsea, is holding the day to also recruit more volunteers from midday to 5pm on Sunday, March 6.

People will get the chance to see what services are offered and find out more about roles including working in the wardrobe department, being an usher, working behind-the-scenes, making props or joining the marketing department.

It comes after The News reported the theatre is struggling with funds following the theft of £6,000 from their Christmas collection.

Entertainment includes a tap dance performance, face painting, sponsored car washes and hide and seek games.
