YOUNG people are being invited to get involved in an ambitious county-wide theatre project this summer.

The Hampshire County Youth Theatre project will run from August 22 to September 3 and will offer physical theatre and performance skills to 14 to 21-year-olds.

And for the first time it will take place in four locations across Hampshire simultaneously, including at Ashcroft Arts Centre in Fareham.

At the end of the project all of the 100 performers will be brought together for finale performances at Nuffield on September 2 and 3.

HCYT is working with the award-winning troupe Frantic Assembly.

Rupert Rowbotham, head of engagement at Nuffield, said: ‘Frantic Assembly are widely acknowledged as one of the most exciting theatre companies in the UK.’

The 10-day project costs £225 per person and bursaries are available on application.
