DELIGHTED winners of a competition in The News were in for a treat when they won a family ticket to see a show at The Kings theatre.
Tillie Lamb-Symon, nine and Alice Peddie, nine, couldn’t believe their eyes when they were greeted by the star of a stage adaptation of the children’s book The Tiger Who Came To Tea.
After the show ended, the two girls and their families went for a tea party of their own at The Magick Bean, Albert Road, where they were served sandwiches, jelly and cakes.
Sandra Smith, publicity officer at the theatre in Southsea, said: ‘The show was absolutely fantastic and the children loved every moment.
‘They loved all the magic in it and were thrilled when they got to meet the Tiger himself.’
The production was based on the picture book written and illustrated by Judith Kerr which features sing-a-long songs.
The Tiger Who Came To Tea had a hugely successful tour last year and was the perfect prize for a family outing.
