That’s the intriguing synopsis of a 12-minute short film, produced and directed by Geoff Harmer and written by Neil Thomas.

The shortlist in this category is drawn from the entrants to Portsmouth Film Society’s annual Short Cuts short film festival.

Geoff said: ‘This is a very pleasant surprise.

‘Hopefully it will help make people more aware of us, and help put people our way – you never know what’s around the corner.’

Geoff, who set up his own production company, Fraught Productions, has already finished his next film, a short horror called Selfie.

‘We’re going to do the festival circuit with that first. It’s about a girl who sees a mysterious figure in a selfie photo and I’ve got a few other mini projects.’

But his ambitions don’t stop at short film making: ‘I’m looking at doing a feature film at the end of the year, if we can get the finance together for it.’
