In a world where 2.5bn photographs are taken every day, Idle Motion bring to life one of the most remarkable untold stories of our time.
In 1933 a young Jewish German refugee fled to Paris where she became immersed in the world of photography and embarked on a tumultuous relationship with legendary war photographer Robert Capa.
These passions led her to capture the horror of the Spanish Civil War where she became the first female photojournalist to die shooting from the front line.
Seventy years later, in Mexico City, a suitcase is discovered containing 4,500 of her lost negatives and unlocking the brilliance of Gerda Taro.
Now, acclaimed contemporary theatre makers Idle Motion use their unique storytelling talents to tell Gerda Taro’s story in full in their brand new show, Shooting With Light.
Idle Motion are fast gaining a reputation at home and abroad for producing poignant, innovative and visually arresting contemporary theatre.
