The Portsmouth Players is looking for the star of their show, as they put on Annie at the Kings Theatre, Southsea, in February.

The dramatics company is looking for a lead to star in their production of the famous musical, and will offer the lucky applicant the chance to perform in the biggest theatre in the city.

Anyone interested in applying should ask for an application form from Portsmouth Players production secretary, Hayley Warner, at Included on the form will be questions on basic information such as age, height, name, experience etc. All application forms should be returned by October 20.

On October 23 open auditions start at 10am, at The Barn, Milton Park. Applicants will be expected to take part in a dance workshop, basic singing, and learn some scripted dialogue.

On October 27 - 28 groups will be recalled to perform, and on October 30 there will be final auditions for those that have got through.

For each part in the show there will be roughly four children, with plans in place to select two teams of children to alternate.

All applicants must be in Year One or above.
