This show casts a spell

Have your say

I grew up being read stories from L Frank Baum’s books of Oz and ever since then I’ve longed to see Wicked the musical.

As Oz celebrates the death of the Wicked Witch, Glinda the Good recounts the events that led up to her demise, and the true story of her troubled young friend, who wanted nothing more than to fit in, help people and find true love.

The beautiful scenery, lighting and effects really bring alive the magical world of Oz, and with a cast as strong as this, you never want to leave.

Stealing the show were Emily Tierney as Glinda and the incredible Ashleigh Gray
as Elphaba.

Having also appeared as Glinda in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Wizard Of Oz, Emily has made this role her own, her pitch perfect vocal and impeccable comic timing really adding a new dimension.

Ashleigh Gray is just incredible as Elphaba. Vulnerable and passionate, she takes each and every member of the audience along on her heart-breaking journey through love and loss. Ashleigh cast a spell over the capacity crowd with a vocal performance that was amazing.

The sold-out Mayflower crowd gasped, cheered and shed a tear as we sat there captivated.
