Aworld premiere is taking place at the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton on May 16, as Ella Hickson’s new play, Boys, opens (until May 26) .

It’s finals day for the Class of 2011. Benny, Mack, Timp and Cam are due out of their five -edroom flat tomorrow morning. Five bedrooms, five chairs, four boys – and one hell of a party.

But the boys start to wonder if there really is any point in getting older, and whether or not they will become the adults they should be.

Ella Hickson debuted her first play Eight in 2008, and won a Fringe First for her efforts, as well as The Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award and was nominated for an Evening Standard Award.

The play went on tour to New York and London’s Trafalar Studios, and since then Precious Little Talent has been performed at Trafalgar Studios, Soup at The Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and Hot Mess at Latitude Festival and The Arcola tent.

Currently under commission to Headlong Theatre and the RSC, she was the 2011 Pearson Playwright in Residence at the Lyric Hammersmith.
