The Challenger Disaster: 30 years on by Roger Mawby

The flight of the Space Shuttle Challenger began at 11.38am on January 28 1986.

It ended 73 seconds later in an explosive burn of hydrogen and oxygen. Speaker Roger Mawby watched the Challenger disaster happen and followed the investigation into its causes.

His talk at the Gosport Discovery Centre, Hight Street, tonight at 7.30pm will cover the technical and managerial reasons for the disaster.
