Chipper: Swimming lessons for Brindley Milligan

Greetings Chipsters everywhere.

For those of you who read this page last week, you’ll remember that I was talking about just how much I love water sports.

I held a mini-Olympics and came first in the diving and swimming round.

So imagine my surprise when I woke up yesterday morning to find out that British Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty had only gone and won us a gold medal in the 100m breaststroke.

I told you swimming was amazing. So amazing in fact, that this fantastic news had convinced my best friend Brindley Milligan to take up swimming lessons.

From whom I hear you ask? Me, of course.

Now cats don’t usually like water and you wouldn’t often see them in it. But Brindley is somewhat of an exception. He’s toughened up, being on the streets of Dunyelping with me all of the time.

Off we went to our leisure centre equipped with goggles, a rubber ring, and armbands – Brindley was all set.

What he wasn’t set for, was the splishing and splashing from other people, having fun in the pool while he was trying to learn how to swim.

Although people were trying to be considerate, what Brindley couldn’t prepare for, was the tidal wave that came from a youngster leaping from a diving board and landing in the pool.

I don’t think I’ll get Brindley back in the pool any time soon.

Chip Chip for now. Chipper.

Competition winners: This week, three of my little Chipsters have each won a family ticket to Drusillas Park. They are:
