The Imitation Game (12A) launches Pride LGBT Film Festival

Portsmouth Film Society and the University of Portsmouth have joined forces to celebrate LGBT History Month this February.

The Pride LGBT Film Festival 2016 will see a number of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-themed films being shown throughout the month, at Portsmouth Film Society.

The first is The Imitation Game (12A), which is being shown tomorrow evening (Thursday) at 7pm.

During the Second World War, mathematician Alan Turing tries to crack the enigma code, which cryptanalysts thought was unbreakable.

But in 1952 Turing suffers when the authorities reveal he is gay and send him to prison.

The Imitation Game stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley and is directed by Morten Tyldum.

The screening comes after a short reception at 6.30pm, with an introduction by the pro vice-chancellor of the University of Portsmouth.

Tickets are £6, or a pass to watch three films is £10.
