Learn about key marine wildlife on board ferry

A MARINE wildlife enthusiast has teamed up with whale and dolphin charity Orca to help others learn about marine conservation.

Lucy McLeod, 29, of Portsmouth, is the wildlife officer on board Brittany Ferries’ Cap Finistère and will be helping passengers to spot cetaceans – whales, dolphins and porpoises – when sailing between Portsmouth and Santander and Bilbao.

She will also be instructing trainees as part of the new four-week residential marine wildlife guide experience courses.

She said: ‘Last year I was lucky enough to undertake a four-week marine
wildlife guide experience with Orca on board the Cap Finistère.

‘I am really looking forward to meeting the new trainee wildlife officers and helping them develop their skills whilst on board.

‘I’m also looking forward to seeing my favourite cetacean species – pilot whales.’
