Olympian is named as speaker at regatta

Olympic silver medallist, Ian Walker will hold a talk about his recent achievements as well as competing in the event on Wednesday, June 1.

The boats will sail out of at Port Solent and Ian said excitement is growing ahead of the charity event.

He said: ‘The race will raise money for the John Merricks Sailing Trust and the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, I’m looking forward to joining the industry for a day’s sailing and guest speaking.’

Ian recently won the Volvo Ocean Race as part of the Abu Dhabi Sailing Team and will speak about his recent triumphs as well as his fundraising efforts for Sport Relief.
