UPDATE: Cable fire put out as trains remain delayed in Portsmouth area

National Rail said the one of the cables between Chichester and Havant had been spotted on fire.

The fire has been put out but a section of cable has been damaged.

Services are running at a reduced speed, with some trains being cancelled or delayed by up to 10 minutes.

The incident will also disrupt services between Portsmouth Harbour and Southampton Central.

Delays are expected until about midday.

Stagecoach South are accepting train tickets for their 700 route between Littlehampton and Portsmouth Harbour.
