PO10 7DD. 10.30am-4.30pm. The history of the oyster boat named Terror. Terror was built in about 1890 to support the oyster dredgers that worked in Emsworth Harbour. But the oysters became infected and Emsworth’s oyster industry collapsed overnight. Terror was left to decay until a project led by Chichester Harbour Conservancy allowed it to be restored. EMSWORTH: Starting at Queen Street. 10am. St George’s Day Parade. With soldiers from the 12 Regiment Royal Artillery (Imjin Battery) Thorney Island, veterans from the Second World War, Korea and all conflicts to the present day. Plus, children from Thorney Island and Emsworth Primary Schools. Veterans will be presented with the Emsworth Rose (formerly Imjin Rose). The parade starts at Queen Street, goes through the town centre at 10.30am, past the saluting base and Dignitaries in St Peter’s Square, turns right into Spring Gardens and goes around King’s Terrace, then into the High Street, halting at St Peter’s Square where the ceremony takes place. Street entertainment will be provided by the George’s Regis Jazz Band.

GOSPORT: Local and Naval Studies Centre, Gosport Discovery Centre, High Street, PO12 1NS. 10.30am-12.30pm & 3.30pm-5.30pm. Right Royal Drop-in. Mark the Queen’s 90th birthday by exploring royal memorabilia and museum objects from each decade of the Queen’s life and reign. Many artefacts can be handled and volunteers will there for a chat.
