The exhibition consists of a collection of delicate, handmade textile sculptures and has been inspired by Sledmere’s memories of both the touch and feel of materials over five decades of her life – looking at objects, architecture and life with curiosity. The exhibition comprises of a series of two-dimensional and sculptural works based on handmade paper. Mundy has had agoraphobia for over eighteen years. He’s also had M.E. for over twenty-eight years, which physically limits what he can do. Over two years Mundy grew and harvested flax, creating his own handmade paper from the plant fibre. Built by Robert Dempster and Sons (Yorkshire), the Emsworth Gas Holder was transported in sections and erected in the early 1930s on the site of the old Gas and Coke Company. It has been an important part of the Emsworth skyline for over 80 years. This exhibition includes pictures of the construction of the gas holder and also the recent demolition. Royal Armouries at Fort Nelson marks the forthcoming anniversary of the battle of Waterloo with themed gun firings. To commemorate the battle, uniformed detachments from Ubique Right of the Line and HMS Loire will conduct the firings of two Napoleonic six-pounder guns. A British six-pounder, smooth-bore cannon and a six-pounder French cannon Le Fameux. Free.
