JETTING off at the last minute and ditching the tourist handbooks are what Scott Tisson does on every holiday.
And now he’s hoping that that approach will help him net a £50,000-a-year job.
The 30-year-old from Wickham is down to the final 10 in a national contest to find lastminute.com’s official ‘spontaneity champion’.
As well as the money, he would spend his time jetting around the world. If the adventurous traveller and blogger wins, he will need to report his experiences on the travel website and inspire its visitors to follow in his footsteps.
Scott said: ‘To get into the final 10 I had to make a 60-second video about myself, explaining why I’m the best person for the job.
‘Then the judges picked just 10 of us and gave us parts of London to make a video about.
‘I was given Camden, which was lucky as I love Camden.’
The short online video goes through all the best places to visit in Camden.
Out of the 10 contenders, the person that gets the most votes on their video will get the job.
Scott is in third place and he is hoping people will log on and vote before it closes on Wednesday.
He said: ‘I’d like to ask people to please look at my video and vote for it, or share it online. I want to seek more adventure, and I’d love to get myself well known as a travel writer and blogger.’
His passion for travel blogging started with his own travelling experiences, which saw him visit Fiji, Spain, Australia and many other countries.
He began to write a blog to keep his friends and family up to date with his adventures.
Since then, the travel bug has bitten, and now he would like to one day be as big as travel writer and TV presenter Simon Reeve.
The former Swanmore College pupil said: ‘The idea of combining adventure and videography would be a dream come true,’
