August bank holiday opening hours: When Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Waitrose, Aldi and Lidl are open

Many people across the Portsmouth area will be looking forward to a long three day break at the end of this week.
However if you are planning a BBQ or even need to stock up on drinks and snacks over the bank holiday weekend, you may worry about whether the shops will be open.

Hide AdSupermarkets usually operate reduced opening hours on a bank holidays.
So to make things easier, we’ve pulled together what you need to know.
Here are the opening hours for supermarkets in Portsmouth over the bank holiday weekend:
The Tesco superstore in the city centre and the Tesco Extra in Fratton will be open with usual opening hours on Saturday and Sunday, then reduced hours of 8am to 6pm on bank holiday Monday.

Hide AdHowever Tesco Express stores in Portsmouth will be open with the usual hours.
Asda
The Asda store in Portsmouth will be open with slightly reduced hours of 8am to 8pm on bank holiday Monday.
It will operate usual opening hours on Saturday and Sunday.
The Waitrose store in Southsea will be open on the bank holiday.
It will be open with the reduced hours of 9am to 5pm on Monday.
The opening hours will be normal on Saturday and Sunday.
Aldi
Aldi stores will be open over the bank holiday weekend.

Hide AdThe shops in the Portsmouth area will be open 8am to 10pm on Saturday, 10am to 4pm on Sunday and 8am to 8pm on Monday.
Lidl is open on bank holiday Monday with the opening hours of 8am to 8pm in the Portsmouth area.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s has yet to announce the bank holiday opening times for its stores in Portsmouth.
