'Outstanding' Waterlooville care home staff achieve national recognition with award shortlisting

Three members of staff at luxury care home Wellington Vale have been selected as finalists in two different awards ceremonies.
Breda O’Doherty, Helen Dunning and Katie-Marie Percival are all set to be nationally recognised for their talents.

Activities co-ordinator Breda O’Doherty has been shortlisted for The Rising Star Award in the Women Achieving Greatness Awards.
The accolade recognises women in the early stages of their career who demonstrate leadership, innovation and have the potential to go far in the industry.
Helen Dunning, a home admissions advisor, is a finalist in the British Care Awards for The Putting People First/Personalisation Awards.

Hide AdThis recognises people who show an innovative approach to empowering residents to have more control over the support they receive.
Wellington Vale’s Chef, Katie-Marie Percival, is also a finalist in the British Care Awards.
The Care Home Cook/Chef Award honours those who have a ‘whole home’ approach to food and nutrition, providing a wide and varied menu, promoting healthy food choices, and caters for residents with specialist dietary requirements.
Women Achieving Greatness Awards will be announced on November 30, and the British Care Awards taking place on November 18.
Ms Atkins added: ‘We have always known that Breda, Helen and Katie-Marie are outstanding.
‘They all thoroughly deserve the recognition they are gaining through these national accolades.’
