Man to appear in court over racial incident on high street involving Boots worker being attacked

Hampshire police confirmed they have charged Christopher Peake, 41, following an incident on Winchester High Street on Sunday October 9.
Peake, of Christchurch Road, Winchester, has been charged with a number of offences following the incident. These include causing racially aggravated intentional harassment / alarm / distress, assault by beating, common assault of an emergency worker and criminal damage.

Hide AdThe charges come after a man reportedly damaged items and assaulted a member of staff in Boots on the High Street.
The man then became racially abusive towards members of the public on the High Street and assaulted a Police Community Support Officer whilst he was being detained.
Peake appeared at magistrates court and has been remanded to next appear on Monday October 31.
