Police manhunt launched after woman, 28, fights off robber on a push bike in Portsmouth

The 28-year-old woman from Portsmouth attacked in St Mary’s Road, Kingston, between 10.10pm and 10.25pm on Saturday.
Hampshire police said the unknown cyclist rode past on a bike and then tried to grab her handbag.

Hide AdBut a spokesman for the police for said the woman refused to give in and fought the male.
‘There was a struggle and the suspect made off towards Clarkes Road empty handed, the woman received minor injuries as a result,’ the spokesman added.
Police have now launched a hunt for the suspect.
He is described as Asian, between 20 and 35-years-old, around 6ft tall and of slim build, with dark brown hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured puffa jacket with a hood, dark coloured trousers, and a dark baseball cap. He was riding a silver bicycle.

Hide Ad‘Officers investigating have made a number of enquiries and are now turning to the public for help,’ a police spokesman said.
