Pensioner on a motorcycle taken to hospital after crashing with car in Gosport

A MOTORCYCLIST ‘in his 80s’ has been taken to hospital after a crash with a car.

The incident took place in Grove Road, Gosport – near the traffic light junction with Heritage Way – this morning.

Authorities said the pensioner collided with a car at 11.20am.

Off-duty paramedics joined staff from South Central Ambulance Service to provide first aid, Hampshire roads policing unit said in a tweet.

Confirming the incident, a spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We were called at 11.20am to a report of a collision on Grove Road, Gosport, involving a motorcycle and a car. The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital.’

The road was closed temporarily while emergency services dealt with the collision.

Police have not announced any arrests.
