Pictures show destruction caused to 'beautiful' Admiral Drake pub in Portsmouth after car slams into building

A blue SUV crashed into the Admiral Drake pub in Kingston Crescent, North End, last Saturday.
Police had to close a lane as a result of the 10.51am collision.

Hide AdThe owners of the drinking establishment reported that the business would be closed until further notice, due to the devastation caused to the inside of the building.
Despite the carnage, their concerns are focused on the individuals involved in the crash.
Police reported that a pedestrian was injured after being struck by a car.
The pub owners posted on Facebook on August 28, and reported a cyclist was involved in the incident: ‘We have had some really supportive and kind messages yesterday and today by so many people of great concern.

Hide Ad‘The main thing is that the car driver and cyclist are ok and as well as they can be at this moment in time.

‘We at the Admiral Drakes wish them both a speedy recovery and good health, can’t imagine how they both must feel. Not a nice experience for them.
‘We thank everyone who attended the crash and gave their support to both gentlemen.’
Even with ‘structure’ damage caused to the building, they are confident it will reopen in the future and ‘definitely won’t be a block of flats.’
‘We will look forward to getting the old place back open as soon as we can , and we will keep you regularly updated as much as we can,’ they added.
