They acknowledged the terrific team performance which stood out, alongside Ryan Williams’ first-half double, as Kenny Jackett’s side moved up to third in the League One table.

Hide AdAnd with Pompey putting their below-par start to the season firmly behind them and gaining momentum in the pursuit of promotion, it’s understandable they have a desire for more of the same.
Indeed, they quickly turned their attention to what else lies ahead in terms of opposition, with a common theme resonating from their accounts – the need to see the job through.
Pompey director Eric tweeted after the final whistle at Ipswich: ‘Great team win! Solid performances all around’, before adding ‘In the hunt. Let’s keep it rolling. More big games coming up.’
Chairman Michael said: ‘Strong consistent performance for #Pompey.’

Hide AdHowever, his last word summed up a feeling which all the Fratton faithful will relate to – ‘Onward!’
The Blues’ two most recent wins in the league – against Peterborough and now Ipswich – have seen them close the gap on the division’s top two.
Before the Posh game, they sat sixth in the table – four points behind second-placed Lincoln and eight adrift of leaders Hull.
Fast forward a week and Jackett’s side have reduced the deficit to one and three points respectively.
