The Aussie fired a first-half double as the Blues ran out 2-0 winners over their promotion rivals at Portman Road.

Williams crashed home the breakthrough in the 29th minute before sweeping home a right-foot effort with one minute of the first period remaining.

The former Rotherham winger had failed to net in his previous 20 appearances in the campaign.

But he was always confident he’d soon start getting himself on the scoresheet.

And he insisted the three points was more important than his own feats.

Williams said: ‘Even though I scored two goals, no doubt it was more about the win and working hard for each other.

‘The chances have been coming and I've just been a little bit unlucky. That's just the way that it is.

‘I still believe that I will score goals and believe I'll get chances.

‘Maybe it's just that little bit of luck I needed to hopefully push me on personally and push the team on at an important time.

‘We've got ourselves in a nice position in the table and now we want to capitalise on it.’
