Claire has been appointed one of the UK’s first arbitrators in cases involving children. Having been accepted after the inaugural application round, Claire’s achievement means that Havant-based Mediation Now is one of the first firms in the UK to offer arbitration in all family law disputes.

‘A lot of people are familiar with arbitration related to financial settlements, but now child-related cases can be heard and finalised in the same way,’ she said.

‘Arbitration works well for those who are looking for an alternative to court proceedings that is swift, immediate and concludes in a binding agreement.’

Claire has a 25-year career in family law and is a member of the Law Society’s Family Panel. She holds accreditation in cohabitation and children law and is a qualified collaborative lawyer and family mediator specialising in child consultation. She became a qualified arbitrator in 2013. She said: ‘I’ve always been passionate about helping families find the best away to move forward as quickly and painlessly as circumstances allow.’
