Becky Lodge started marketing firm Little Kanga in 2015, but the business has grown and its success meant a fixed office was necessary.
Becky said she was excited to take up residence at Fareham Innovation Centre, a business centre at Daedalus run by Oxford Innovation on behalf of Fareham Borough Council. An event was held at the office to thank those who have supported her – and more than 60 people came to the party.
Becky said: ‘It went really well. It’s lovely to have a place. I started from my kitchen table and my whole house was full of stuff. I had boxes piled to the ceiling with all my business paraphernalia.
‘It is great to finally have a place – and it is such a fabulous place to be. The centre is one of the best kept business secrets in Fareham.
‘There’s great support and great technology and a wonderful conference centre with impressive views of the runway at Solent Airport.’
Becky set up Little Kanga after 25 years working in international sales and marketing roles as she saw a gap in the market for disruptive consulting services and events. She now works with an outsourced team of more than 1,000 associates and provides a ‘one stop shop’ for sales training, digital transformation, business planning, sales and marketing strategy and implementation.
Becky also runs the StartUp Disruptors community; and organises the Hampshire Meet The Buyer event.
She is busy planning the third annual Meet The Buyer Event, due to return to the Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth on Tuesday, June 11. The event brings together start-ups, SMEs and corporate companies in one location.
Becky has seen great success in the past year – she was named as one of Sky News 100 Women, picked from more than 10,000 UK applicants. She was also appointed as a mentor for FasterCapital – a virtual incubator in Dubai that helps IT startups.
Becky is also a published author and she has more than 27,000 followers on social media.
Becky said: ‘All the recognition is hard to believe, but it is so good to be helping and inspiring people.
‘We have found a niche in the market and it is growing. Now we want to to take that idea national – and then global.’
