Award-winning firm marks 30 years with a lavish celebration

Aerial Business Communications, which has its offices and shop in Rodney Road, Fratton, celebrated its 30th anniversary earlier this month.

The historic venue of No Man’s Fort – a luxury hotel on a fort in the Solent – was the perfect setting for staff, customers and suppliers to enjoy a fun-filled day which included a gourmet lunch and drinks, with stunning views over the Solent.

There was live entertainment from the Vernon Sisters, a breakdancing flash mob, a digital magician, DJs, mermaids and Samsung’s virtual reality hub, as well as prize giveaways throughout the party.

The company, formerly known as Aerial Telephones, started as a mobile and car phone retailer.

Founded by managing director Paul Davis on March 24, 1986, it began as small shop on Goldsmith Avenue employing three sales staff.

The business grew rapidly and in 1997 moved to its current premises on Rodney Road, which has since quadrupled in size and become recognisable due to the giant smartphone on the front of the building.

Aerial has now developed into an award-winning, fully unified communications company.

With a staff team of over 50, Aerial supplies mobiles, telephone systems, IT and internet connectivity services to businesses around Hampshire and the UK.

Mr Davis said the company wanted to thank their loyal customers for the support they have shown over the past 30 years.

He said: ‘Thirty years is a milestone in any industry but with one as new as mobile and it’s ever changing technology I believe it to be even more of a success story.

‘We will continue to keep ahead of technology by adding new products and services to our portfolio, so that our customers can keep ahead of their competitors.’

Aerial has won numerous awards for its services, including being named best Medium Business of the Year and Overall Business of the Year at The News’ Business Excellence Awards in February.
