Awards for beauty in south

UNIQUE and glamorous shepherd huts set in a beautifully rural location have won a national award for a diversified farming business.

Meon Springs, which provides fishing, ‘glamping’, bike hire, self-storage and conference facilities in East Meon, was given a bronze award at the Beautiful South Tourism Awards.

The business won the accolade in the Glamping Business of the Year category. Adhurst Yurts, in Petersfield, was highly commended in the same category. The awards were presented at the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl last week.

The Mary Rose Museum, in Portsmouth, won silver in the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category.

Wallops Wood Cottages, in Droxford, won gold in the Access for All Tourism and the Self-Catering Holiday Provider of the Year categories, and it staff member Liz Horn won bronze in the Customer Service Superstar category.
