Bid to save Hayling Ferry gather momentum
The Hayling Ferry Trust was launched in the middle of June and has already been inundated with donations, amassing more than £4,500.
The trust has a target of raising £15,000 and trustee Clare Satchwell believes another two big donations expected this week will put the kitty over £7,500.

Branson, a keen kitesurfer, has spoken of his affection for Hayling Island and his desire to get the ferry back in action.
Mrs Satchwell explained the trust is now launching a new moneyspinner to involve local businesses.
She said: ‘The next thing we are doing is launching the Hayling Ferry 100.
‘We are looking for 100 small businesses to give us £100.

‘We will make sure they are promoted on social media.’
Mrs Satchwell said the response so far to the fundraising had been superb.
‘I have been going to lots of events and meeting lots of people,’ she said.
‘Overwhelmingly, everyone is desperate for the ferry to come back. The response has been hugely positive.’
