Burgeoning businesses earn prestigious gongs at Johnston Press South Business Awards

FOUR local businesses were among those taking the honours at Johnston Press's annual South Business Awards.

Firms and figures that have been previously championed by The News and its sister publications in Sussex were invited to celebrate their achievements at a 
ceremony in Brighton last night.

David Oliver, of Verisona Law, was given the most prestigious accolade of the night – the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth scooped a gong for the Leisure, Hospitality and Tourism category, while Creatiques Bridal Boutique in Southsea was named Retailer of the Year.

The award for Employer of the Year was handed to Havant company Dynamite Recruitment at the awards dinner, which was hosted by BBC presenter Nick Wallis at the Grand Hotel.
