Businesses urged to donate

BUSINESSES are being asked to help raise funds for a good cause '“ the NSPCC's Childline service.

The charity’s 30 for 30 initiative calls for 30 companies across Hampshire to raise £2,000 each so the free 24/7 counselling service can reach more young people.

Since launching in 1986, Childline has been a place for children to turn even when it feels like no-one else is listening. To date Childline has helped over four million children. But at the moment the service can only answer three out of every four contacts from children. It costs £30,000 a day to run Childline.

Helen Beattie, from Childline, said: ‘We need to answer every child. That requires more volunteers and more investment so we can grow to meet the demand. I hope businesses across Hampshire will help us.’
