Currys / PC World customer service comes under the spotlight as News consumer expert Streetwise investigates

A NUMBER of angry Currys / PC World customers have contacted the News consumer expert Streetwise for help after struggling to contact the electrical giant’s customer services.

They claim they’ve been ignored when trying to sort out problems with the delivery of their orders or seeking refunds.

The majority of complaints have been about items that have been ordered but not arriving, sometimes more than a month from the placing the order and with no indication from Currys when and if it will ever be received.

Tom Orchard, from Southsea, is a typical complainant.

He ordered a chest freezer from Currys in mid March, and was told it was temporarily out of stock and wouldn’t be available until the end of the month.

After attempting to track the order in early April, all he got for his pains was a repeated out of stock message. A stream of emails have remained unanswered and he’s not been able to contact the firm by phone.

A significant number of people have complained that they’ve spent hours on the phone to Currys unable to get through or being cut off soon after someone from customer services answered.

Streetwise is investigating reader complaints, and is in touch with the firm seeking answers.

Currys PC World has issued a statement saying some items are taking much longer to be delivered than usual due to the coronavirus but is working hard to ensure every customer’s order will be fulfilled.
