9. The Mary Rose
One of Henry VIII's warships, the Mary Rose sank in 1545 during the Battle of the Solent. She was eventually rediscovered and raised in 1982. She now has her own museum in the Historic Dockyard. Photo: Tom Langford

11. The Royal Navy

12. Beaches
Portsmouth is home to a number of beautiful beaches, including Southsea Beach, Eastney Beach and Hotwalls Beach. The are great places to relax and enjoy the views and sunshine. Skim a stone, build a sandcastle or simply lie in the sun, weather permitting.
