Defence products on show

INNOVATIVE research was put on show at an event held to highlight some of the UK's best defence projects.

A marketplace event was hosted at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory’s Centre for Defence Enterprise to encourage companies to work with investors and one another.

On display were some of the best research ideas it has recently funded, such as micro-SME Meon Technology Ltd, from Cosham, which has developed a microwire – a fine glass fibre with a metal core – production process.

The event saw about 30 exhibitors pitch their innovative ideas to the audience, including investors and representatives from big companies and other government departments.

Philip Dunne MP said: ‘This event allows for some of the UK’s most innovative projects to go on display, and for others to see how they can help advance those ideas.’
